One woman died during a road accident in the Quimoh area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir while her daughter was injured in the road accident.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday around 6.30pm, an oil tanker bearing the number JK02CR 7345 hit a scooty near the Khudwani bypass, injuring three persons.
“In the said accident two pillion riders namely Nelofer wife of Mohammed Yaseen Mantoo and Zarka daughter of of Mohammed Yaseen Mantoo got injured and were evacuated to district hospital Anantnag,” the official said.
He said that Nelofer was declared dead on her arriver at the hospital, while her daughter Zarka is in critical condition.
The Jammu Kashmir Police has arrested the driver of the oil tanker identified as Joginder Kumar son of Krishan Chand, a resident of Kathua and started further investigation into the incident
