
A youth from Budgam ended his life by jumping into river Jhelum at Safakadal bridge last night.
Reports reaching said that an undergraduate student from the Khag area of Budgam jumped into the river Jhelum at around 8 pm on Wednesday evening.
The youth had gone missing from his home at 1 pm yesterday. “Initially, the family tried to call his number but it was switched off. Later we came to know that he had kept his phone on flight mode in his room at home,” a family member told The Kashmiriyat.
The family then posted his photo on social media site Facebook calling the general public for help in tracing him out.
“Around 7pm we received a call that he was standing at a bridge in Safakadal,” they said. After which he jumped in the river Jhelum.
The operation has been launched to trace out his body.
