With the easing of lockdown, repair work on various damaged roads in South Kashmir and laying of macdamization is in full swung.
The work of macdamization on the road has been going on for the last two days under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) at Goripura Badasgam in the southern district of Islamabad (Anantnag).
However, the power pole and the transformer in the middle the road has put this macdamization work at a complete halt for the past two days.
Although the PMGSY, staff informed the Power Development (PDD) to install the transformer on the side of the road but the power department did not pay any attention to it due to which Macdamization had to be eventually stopped.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that there was a long standing demand for road in the village which was met and Macdamization has been on the road for two days now.
As per the PMGSY, the officials of the power Development Department several times that the power pole and transformer standing on the road between Goripura and Badasgam should be removed.
However, to date, the power department has failed to act and the local population is angry with the power department.
In this regard, The Kashmiriyat called AEE PDD Dooru but he did not respond to our Phone calls.
The people have appealed to the chief engineer PDD to intervene into the matter.
