Following a brief exchange of gunfire, militants managed to give slip to government forces in Chakoora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A Police official said that there was a brief exchange of firing between militants and Government forces on Wednesday evening.
As the firing stopped, searches were intensified at the suspected spot, where no militant was found.
They might have escaped taking advantage of darkness, the officer added.
Earlier police in a tweet reported a gunfight between militants and security forces in Chakoora area of Shopian.
