Teacher suspended in Jammu Kashmir for criticising Government policy

Days after it issued an order asking the Government employees to not criticize it’s policies, the administration has suspended a teacher in Ramban district of Jammu Kashmir.

Reports reaching The Kashmiriyat said that a teacher identified as Joginder Singh posted at GPS Chanderkot was placed under suspension and attached to the CEO Ramban’ office.

“Pending enquiry and for violations of directions passed by the Government regarding criticism of policies of the Government by its employees on social media platforms, Joginder Singh, Teacher GPS Chanderkote, is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect,” read the order issued by DM Ramban

During the period of suspension, he (Joginder) shall remain attached in the office of the Chief Education Officer, Ramban, reads an order issued by the official.

Recently, the Jammu Kashmir administration has issued a direction to Administrative Secretaries to monitor the social media activity of Government employees on regular basis.

In an order issued by the Under Secretary of the Chief Secretary, JK admin, of which a copy was accessed by The Kashmiriyat, the official said, “It was observed that some government employees arc openly criticizing/commenting adversely on the government policies/achievements etc. on the social media platforms.”
