The wildlife department has caught a leopard in Central Kashmir’s budgam district at Deputy commissioner (DC) complex office on tuesday morning.
Leapord fell finally into the trap. The Leapord which had mauled to death 4 year old girl in Ompora area of central Budgam subsequently created fear among the Budgam residents was caught alive by wild life department at the Forest office, Budgam.
The officials belonging to the department were rendered sleepless and restless laying day-night long seizures and had been putting all their efforts to neutralize the wild beast. The operation had come in the context of the recent heart-wrenching ompora incident which left everyone in Kashmir petrified.
Eleven days after mauling a four-year-old girl to death, the leopard was caught alive by wildlife authorities on Tuesday at DC office complex in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The wildlife department official told the Kashmiriyat that efforts were on from days to trap the Leapord and today they got successful.
When asked, how can department claims that it is same Leapord that mauled fours years old girl, he said that the department is 90% sure and they are confirming it further.
” There is possibility that there would be more more number of Leopards in the area and people should remain vigilant, ” he said.
