As many as 161 Militants have been killed by Government during Anti Militancy operations till the month of August.
Ten Government Forces personnel have also been killed of joint security forces have been martyred.
In Rajouri, an intruder was killed by the army, while Militants shot and killed a BJP worker.
According to data available to The Kashmiriyat, a total of six civilians were killed in August. Among them, Abdul Hamid Najar, a BJP worker from Ompora Budgam, Khonmau Panch Nisar Bhat aka Cobra were killed. On the other hand, 42-year-old mental patient Azad Ahmed Dar of Dadora Kangan village in Pulwama , South Kashmir , all these people were shot dead by suspected terrorists.
Those killed in the cross border firing include Muhammad Arif of Rangwar Kupwara, 65-year-old Sadiq Ahmed of Poonch and Muhammad Yakub Mir of Tangdar. 16 militants were killed in separate encounters in Karmajipora Pulwama, Kerry Baramulla, Mooli Chitragram Shopian, Ganupora Kralgund area of Handwara, Killura Shopian, Zadura Pulwama and Pantha Chowk in Srinagar .
161 Militants, 61 Government Force personnel were killed in the first 8 months of the year. So far, the month of June has been the deadliest when the Government forces had killed 50 militants in 30 days.
