183,000 Fresh Coronavirus Cases Reported Globally- Largest Single Day Spike

With a spike of 14,821 new cases, the coronavirus infection cases in India rose to over 4.25 lakh, while the death toll stands at 13,699.

Globally, the number of infected persons has inched close to the 9 million mark. Over 8.9 infections have been reported worldwide, while the virus has killed at least 4.6 lakh people.

The World Health Organization on Sunday reported the largest single-day increase in coronavirus cases by its count, at more than 183,000 new cases in the latest 24 hours.

The UN health agency said Brazil led the way with 54,771 cases tallied and the U.S. next at 36,617. Over 15,400 came in in India. Experts said rising case counts can reflect multiple factors including more widespread testing as well as a broader infection.

In Jammu Kashmir, 5956 People have been infected so far, while 2491 persons have cured, while the number of active cases stands at 3382 and 83 people have been reported dead so far due to the coronavirus.
