Family, Neighbours of Lateef Tiger Assaulted during a Nocturnal Raid

September 05 The Government Forces have allegedly assaulted the family members of Lateef Ahmed Dar alas Tiger in Dogripora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District, an allegation the government forces have denied. Locals informed The Kashmiriyat that forces during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday entered the house of the Lateef Tiger and thrashed the inmates including his three brothers. They said that the forces also ransacked the household items and vandalized the property in the house for the second time. Jammu Kashmir Police Arrest Wanted Hizb Militant

September 05 The Jammu Kashmir police has claimed to have achieved a major success when they arrested a 'wanted' Militants of Hizbul Mujahideen in Kishtawar. The Police said that he was evading arrest since July 1 when other members of his outfit were captured along with arms, ammunition and explosives. Senior Superintendent of Jammu Kashmir Police for Kishtwar Rajinder Gupta identified the arrested Militant as Touseef Ahmad Gundna son of Ghulam Nabi Gundna, a resident of Jamia Masjid, Kishtwar. Touseef was being searched by Police since July 1 when two other Militants of Hizbul Mujahideen were arrested along with arms, ammunition and explosives.

Militants Attack Army Patrol in Pulwama

September 05 Suspected Militants on Wednesday morning attacked a patrol of Indian Army's Rashtriya Rifles in HajiDarpora locality of lassipora in South kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown gunmen opened fire towards a patrol of 55RR near Lassipora on Wednesday morning, however nobody was injured in the attack. The Army retaliated with intense firing, however the Militants managed to escape from the spot of the firing. An official confirming the incident said nobody was injured in the attack and the forces have launched a massive manhunt around the area.

September 04 The Government Forces on Tuesday night launched a massive Cordon and Search Operation in the Kharpora area of Arwani belt in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched an Anti Militancy operation in the area. They said that following an input about Militant Presence in the area, the troops jointly launched a CASO. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the forces have blocked all the entry and exit points to the area and a massive search operation has started. Pertinently Arwani is the native of Lashkar e Toiba district commander Azad Malik alias Dada who recently appeared in the list of Most wanted Militants.

September 04 Rayees Shah A woman who was critically wounded on Monday after a falling tree branch fell down on her, succumbed at SKIMS Soura on Tuesday. Major Search Operation Launched in Rajouri

September 04 Government forces on Tuesday launched a major search operation in Langer village located close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera area of Rajouri district of Jammu Kashmir. A police official said that the students of a local school reported that they saw some suspects roaming in maize fields after which local villagers reported the matter to the police. DC Srinagar orders Installation of CCTV Cameras in Prominent Masjids, Shrines

Jammu Kashmir Police Seizes Alcohol Bottles in Pahalgam

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that during a patrol laid down by Jammu Kashmir Police, they recovered huge quantity of Rum and Whiskey, which was being illegally transported. While talking to The Kashmiriyat Station House Officer Pahalgam confirmed that some alcohol has been recoveered from a vehicle. He said that the Police is investigating the matter and will ascertain the facts soon.
