After Police, Now Army Prepares Hit List of 15 Most Wanted Militants

September 03 After the Jammu Kashmir Police prepared a list of 17 Most wanted Militants in Jammu Kashmir, the Indian Army has come out with a fresh list of its 15 Most Wanted Militants. In the fresh list are the names of some of the most dreaded militant commanders including Zakir Musa, Riyaz Naikoo, Dr. Saifullah and Abu Hanzala. Zakir Musa, a known face in Kashmir militancy, and a successor of slain militant Burhan Wani - was named the head of the Al-Qaeda India unit Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind in July last year. Spontaneous Shutdown, Clashes in Pulwama After Killing of Youth

September 03 Violent clashes have erupted in Pulwama town of South Kashmir after a youth named Fayaz Ahmed was killed in firing of Government forces in chewakalan of Pulwama. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting pro Freedom and Anti India slogans hit the streets and threw stones on Forces deployed in the area. Shopkeepers downed their shutters as a mark of protest against the killing of the youth. PDP Worker Fired Upon by Gunmen in Pulwama

September 03 A worker of People's Democratic Party was shot at by unknown gunmen on Monday when he was coming out of Sports stadium in Pulwama. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that gunmen fired upon a PDP worker identified as Mehraj Ahmad Parra, son of Ali Mohd Parra, a resident of Naira Pulwama in South Kashmir. Officials however said that he has escaped unhurt and is safe.

Train Services in South Kashmir suspended

September 03 Following a massive cordon and search operation in Pulwama of South Kashmir, the Railway authorities have suspended train services from Banihal to Srinagar. "Following the volatile situation in South Kashmir areas, the train services have been suspended as a precautionary measure," officials told The Kashmiriyat. Massive clashes have erupted in Pulwama of South Kashmir after Government Forces launched a cordon and search operation in at least 18 villages. One youth has also been killed in the ongoing clashes.

September 03 A Youth identified as Fayaz Ahmed Wani from South Kashmir's Pulwama District has been killed after forces opened fire upon unarmed protesters during clashes that erupted in Chewakalan locality during a CASO. The youth had been shifted to Srinagar for treatment, however upon reaching SMHS, he was declared dead.

25 Year old Youth From Kupwara Goes Missing

September 03 SHABIR KHAN Mehraj ud din Teeli son of Abdul Majeed Teeli, a resident of Khaipora Bala Tangmarg is missing since 24th of August. The Family of the youth has filed a missing report in the Police station of Tangmarg in North Kashmir. "We have no information of the whereabouts of Mehraj ud din," a family member told The Kashmiriyat. The family staged a massive protest along with residents of other local villages and tried to march towards Tangmarg but the police stopped them from marching towards Tangmarg, The Family appealed the Higher authorities to intervene. Uri Shuts Down in Protest Against the Murder of 9 Year old Girl

September 03  A complete shutdown is being observed today in Boniyar area of Uri against the alleged murder of a minor girl. The protesters hit  roads on  Monday blocking Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road against the death of a minor girl at Larri Trikanjan area of Boniyar. The protestors are demanding identification of culprits behind the killing of minor girl Muskan Jan.  Muskan Jan, a 9 year old girl went missing on August 23, Her decomposed body was spotted on Sunday in the forest area barely a kilometre away from her residence. However civil administration  reached on the spot and restored the traffic on the highway.

Cousin of Riyaz Naikoo Arrested

September 03 The family of the cousin of Riyaz Naikoo has said that the Jammu Kashmir Police has detained his cousin Sheeraz Ahmad Naikoo. They said that Sheeraz was arrested by police from his residence in Beighpora in Awantipora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Thursday and has been in jail since then. Asadullah and four others were detained on Wednesday during nocturnal raids at Tral and Awantipora areas of Pulwama district. Sheeraz who is a businessman had been detained the last year also but was released later. The Police officials were unavailable for comments on the issue.
