Stay Away from Drugs, Study Hard- Army’s GOC to Kashmiri Youth

April 28 The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps, Lt Gen KJS Dhillon today while addressing media persons in Zojila asked the youth to study hard, concentrate on education and stay away from drugs. “Drugs will only ruin your life. Stay away from drugs. Study hard, educate others that will lead you to success,” he said. April 28 A private collection of rare hand-woven Kashmiri shawls dating back to the 17th century are on offer at auction by Christie’s here. Described as “treasured heirlooms”, the auction house has announced that the online sale will take place between June 11 and 18 with prices ranging from 1,000 pounds to 12,000 pounds. “This ‘Important Private Collection of Kashmir Shawls’ is perhaps the most significant collection of shawls ever to be offered at auction. Students Protest to Demand Buses in Budgam

April 27 The Students of  various areas of Arizal area on Saturday staged a protest demonstration in Beerwah town against the shortage of bus service on the Beerwah-Arizal route. The protesting students blocked the road and raised slogans against the administration to demand the availability of the buses during morning and evening hours. They said that despite repeated requests to the administration, no action has been taken so far.

April 27 The District Magistrate Khalid Jahangir in exercise of the powers vested under section 144 CrPc, has ordered ban on the sale and purchase of chemical/acids in district Anantnag for a period of two months with immediate effect According to the official communique, the ban has been imposed after it has been noticed that rampant sale and acids is going on in the district without any checks and balances.
