Father Slits Throat of his 2 Year old Son in Kashmir’s Kokernag

May 03 Suhail Dar In a shocking incident, The father of a two year old boy has allegedly slit the throat of his son in the Lisser area of Kokernag in South Kashmir's Islamabad (anantnag) district. The mother of the two year old boy identified as Usman Gowhar speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that Gowhar Ahmed Dar, the father of the child has slit his throat. If Burqa is Banned, Then Ghunghat too Should Go, Says Javed Akhtar

May 03 Veteran lyricist and poet from India, Javed Akhtar on has said if a ban was imposed on Burqa, a ban should be imposed on Ghoongat (covering of the face by Hindu women) too. Javed said that he was not averse to enacting a law banning the burqa if it was accompanied with a similar action against the 'ghunghat' system prevalent among women in Rajasthan. Akhtar's comment came in the wake of the Shiv Sena mouthpiece on Wednesday urging the Modi government to emulate Sri Lanka in banning the burqa on grounds of national security. Another Militant Killed- Death toll Rises to 3 in Shopian Encounter

May 03 Three Militants have been killed during an encounter between militants and Government forces at Adkhara area of Imam Sahab in South Kashmir’s Shopian District. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday morning 34 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area around 3:30 am. The cordon continued for nearly three hours, during which the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter. All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed by the Forces. May 03 Pakistan has issued an official order to freeze the assets of and impose a travel ban on JeM chief Masood Azhar after the UN declared him a “global terrorist”. Pakistan-based Azhar is also banned from selling or purchasing arms and ammunition. The UN sanctions committee on the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda on Wednesday announced the designation of Azhar, leader of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), over its ties to Al-Qaeda. May 03 Clashes erupted as hundreds of youth hit the streets of Imam Sahab and its adjoining areas in South Kashmir's Shopian area. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth hit the streets early morning on Friday. The Forces fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters, however the clashes were going on when this report was filed. Locals said that people from nearby areas are marching towards Adkhara in huge numbers. Civilian Shot at by Suspected Militants in Tral

May 03 unknown persons on Thursday evening fired at a civilian in the Kachmulla area of Tral belt in South Kashmir's Pulwama District injuring him. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that gunmen fired upon a man identified as Abdul Rashid alias Madan lal  of Kachmulla in Tral area, injuring him seriously.
