Jammu Police Arrested 6 People Involved LeT Financing Network

Six people, allegedly LeT members were arrested in Jammu, today. The Jammu police, by arresting these 6 people, claims to have busted a LeT financing network. A senior police official, while talking to media persons said, “A case FIR No. 42/2020 U/S 17/18/20/21/38 and 40 of UAPA Act 1967 was registered at Police Station Peermitha, Jammu.”. According to the police, Mubashir Farooq Bhat, son of Farooq Ahmed Bhat, resident of Sazan, Doda was arrested by the special Operation Group Jammu, on 19th July with 1.5 Lac Indian Currency concealed in a Tiffin Box. International committees have expressed their concerns over the prolonged restrictions that persist in Jammu Kashmir since last year and now amid the pandemic. Dead Body Found in Pulwama, South Kashmir

At Chewakalan village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, a body was found in Romshi Nallah. An official, talking to media persons said, “locals spotted a body in Nallah Romshi at Chewakalan village and immediately contacted the police station”. A police team rushed to the spot and retrieved the body. The deceased was identified as Shabir Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Akbar Dar from Ashminder village of Pulwama. A case has been registered and investigation has been initiated.

Schools May Reopen in September with 33% Staff and Student Strength: Govt

In the month of August, as India touches the 20 lakh benchmark from 15 lakh cases in a record 9 days, the central government is in discussions to chalk out a plan to reopen schools from the month of September. The government is of the view that schools for higher classes could begin in a phased manner between September and November. Guidelines include opening schools first for classes 10-12 and then for classes VI-IX, which have been discussed with GOM for Corona headed by Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan. In the first phase, students of classes X-XII will be asked to attend schools. If a school has four sections in any class, only two sections will attend school on alternative days. The timings of the school will be halved -- from 5 to 6 hours to just 2 to 3 hours. While school...

Concerned over the spread of COVID-19 the Union Health Ministry in a letter has advised states and UTs to take up testing of grocery shop workers and vegetable vendors to prevent the potential spread of the disease leading to reduced mortality rate. The Union Health Ministry also emphasized operationalizing the ambulance transport system with oxygen facility and increasing the response mechanisms. Secretary in Health Ministry, Rajesh Bhushan stressed monitoring the refusal rate of ambulances on a daily basis and bringing it down to zero. 21-Year-Old Boy Commits Suicide in Anantnag

A 21 years old boy (name withheld) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at Kandaji Brariangan in Utersoo area of south Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. On Saturday morning, the police got information about a suicide case in Uttersoo. The cause of suicide is not known yet. An official said, “a case has been registered and investigation started”. It’s important to mention here that this is the second suicide case in a week in Uttersoo.On Tuesday, a minor girl had also committed suicide. This is also the sixth case of suicide in the past eight days in Kashmir.

An Air India Express flight that was en route from Dubai to Calicut with 184 Passengers crashed and broke into two after overshooting the runway and skidding off of the pathway upon landing. At least 16 people have been reported to be killed due to the air crash. Fire tenders and ambulances rushed to the spot and rescue operations have been underway in the southern state of Kerala. Approximately 15 ambulances have taken the injured to the nearby attending hospitals open for trauma service.
