PDL TDL Stages Protest in Anantnag, Demand Regularization

Sheikh Nadeem PDL & TDL electrical employees working in the power department protested in Anantnag for their legitimate demands and said to The Kashmiriyat, "our department may have been paralyzed due to electric shock to dozens of casual laborers but till date no steps have been taken for their regularization." On the other hand, although a formal SRO was issued by the department in May 2019 regarding the tenure of casual and daily wagers, it has not been implemented yet. They told The Kahmiriyat that if their demands are not fulfilled, they will take to the streets for protests, and the governor's administration will be responsible for it.

People in Iran Protest Against Use of Pellet Guns in Kashmir

In the holy city of Mashhad, Iran, Kashmiri Seminary scholars and students organized a peaceful protest against the use of pellet-firing on the local people of Kashmir. They also condemned the use of inhumane and insensitive force on people there. Protesters also demanded a ban of pellet guns in Kashmir and an end to the violence. Recently in Kashmir, shotgun pellets and tear gas were fired to disperse hundreds of mainly Shia Muslims participating in a Muharram procession which injured dozens of people. Over 200 people were detained in Srinagar for participating in the processions and at least seven people were arrested under an anti-terror law for raising pro-freedom slogans.
