Irshad Hussain Despite being one kilometre away from the deputy commissioner's office in budgam, a main road in this central Kashmir district has turned into a wetland and the administration remains is unmoved. Locals of Waterwani, Dadina, Sholipora , Doonsinaar , Labertal and their adjoining areas are facing acute difficulties due to the sorry state of this road. The Jammu Kashmir government on Monday declared all districts in Kashmir except Bandipora as ‘Red Zones’ in view of the spike in the COVID-19 cases. An order issued by Chief Secretary JK, B V R Subrahmanyam, who is also the Chairman of the State Executive Committee of the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, said that the decision had been taken after a review of the COVID-19 situation with Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education and in view of the spike in the number of infections of late. The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday ordered the immediate release and the dropping of stringent National Security Act (NSA) charges against Dr. Kafeel Khan. The UP Government led by Yogi Adityanath had invoked NSA earlier this year over an alleged inflammatory speech by him against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Commenting on his release, prominent journalist Rohini Singh took to twitter and wrote, "The court has ordered that NSA charges against Dr Kafeel Khan be dropped. But Dr Khan has already spent more than 200 days in jail. Everyone knew the case against him was a fraud one. His only ‘crime’ was that he was Muslim and spoke out against a vindictive regime."
