A second-year postgraduate student, Dr Rajat Gupta died due to COVID-19 in Jammu on Monday. He was studying at the Radiology department of GMC Jammu. He was earlier tested positive for COVID-19 and he re-joined the duty after recovering from the infection. However, he then suddenly started developing post-COVID symptoms. Initially, he was admitted in BEN hospital and was later shifted to the Narayana Hospital, where he succumbed to the deadly disease on Monday morning. One Militant Killed in Ongoing Encounter in Tral

Mohammad Mufeez One Militant has been killed in the gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Noorpora area of Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of Army’s 42 RR and CRPF's 180 Battalion launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area on Monday evening The official said that, as the joint team of forces progressed towards the suspected identified spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter. During the exchange of fire, one Militant has been killed, who is yet to be identified. As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.

Encounter starts in Noorpora, Tral

An official told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of Army’s 42 RR and CRPF's 180 Battalion launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. The official said that, as the joint team of forces progressed towards the suspected identified spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter. A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of fire between forces and militants. As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area. One militant was reported dead.

Lolab resident hit by wood log succumbs at SKIMS Soura

The 28-year-old Lolab resident, who had received critical injuries after getting hit by a wood log, has succumbed at a tertiary hospital here on Monday afternoon. The deceased identified as Rafaqat Ahmad War (28) son of Mohammad Sidiq War, as reported by GNS, had received a major blow from a wood log during firewood collection in Compartment number 39 of Nagbal forest area in Lolab area of Kupwara. In the incident, Rafaqat sustained critical injuries and was immediately evacuated to nearby health facility wherefrom he was shifted to District Hospital Handwara, however upon sensing emergency, the injured was referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment.
