Speaking to the media, one of the protesters, Amir Choudhary said that the demolition drive is illegal an inhumane. "The Government rather than implementing the Forest Rights Act 2006, is evacuating the Gujjar Bakerwal community in various areas." He said that the Forest Rights Act is applicable in Jammu Kashmir since article 370 has been established. Union Home Ministry has ordered the deployment of 49 additional battalions of paramilitary CRPF to Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the ensuing Panchayat election, officials sources said on Wednesday. The Srinagar administration has embarked on an ambitious project to transform all government schools with owned buildings in the district on modern lines equipping them with smart facilities and modern infrastructure. Under the project, a total of 180 schools including 120 in urban areas and 60 in rural areas of the district are being upgraded in terms of facilities. These schools will be equipped with modern facilities through interventions at infrastructural and operational levels.
