The Deputy Commissioner of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district K.K Sidha briefed the media persons about the demolition drive done by District Administration in Pahalgam.

As per an official press release issued to The Kashmiriyat by the District Information office, He said that the drive was undertaken to retrieve the encroached forest & state land.
The DC said that 1035 Kanals of land have been retrieved from encroachers, “No shelter was demolished in Lidroo area of Pahalgam,” he claimed, adding, “Nobody who has forest rights has been evacuated from the areas.”
He said sections of media are portraying that the nomads have been left shelter less, however that is not true.
KK Sidha also briefed about the preparedness of District Administration Anantnag for ensuing winter season viz a viz food supply, drinking water, road connectivity, power supply, health facilities and other essential services.
He announced that Control Rooms have been setup to ensure that grievances of the public are redressed promptly and the authorities immediately come to action wherever the need arises.
KK Sidha also directed the SDM’s to establish Control Rooms at their own level with in their jurisdiction and keep close liaison with the Headquarter/ Joint Control Room.
Briefing about the upcoming polls, he said, 60 candidates have withdrawn nominations, 388 in fray for Phase Ist DDC, ULB & Panchayat Bye-elections 2020.
