GOI Announces 50 Percent Subsidy for Carriage and Cold Storage

In what is being seen as a relief to apple growers of J&K, 50 percent of transport from cold chains or orchards to markets and storage in cold chains would be borne by the administration. The Director Horticulture Kashmir Aijaz Ahmed Bhat said that Prime Minister has waived off all the early riders of the scheme for extended greater benefit to the farmer. Shabir Khan A youth was wounded after he met with an accident in the Bomai area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. An official of Jammu Kashmir Police confirming the incident to The Kashmiriyat said that on Monday morning a motorcycle bearing the registration number JK05G 5318 collided with a private vehicle in the Zendri area of Sopore, injuring him critically. The youth was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment, from where he was shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment. He was identified as Wajahat Ahmed son of Mushtaq Ahmed War, who is a resident of the Wadoora area in Sopore. A case has been registered in this regard and further investigations have been taken up, the official said.

The fourth phase of the District Development Council (DDC) elections 2020 recorded a voter percentage of 26.02 per cent across 34 different constituencies of Jammu Kashmir till 11 am. As per the figures given by the office of State Election Commissioner, in Kashmir Division, Pulwama has recorded 3.79 % till 11 AM, Baramulla 21.12%, Kulgam 3.58%, Shopian 1.24 %, Anantnag 16.28%, Bandipora 27.49%, Ganderbal 25.15 %, Budgam 21.14 %. The Delhi Police on Monday claimed that it had arrested five “suspected militants” after a brief exchange of fire in the Shakarpur area of East Delhi. The ANI Quoted Pramod Kushwaha, DCP of the Delhi Police Special Cell as saying, “Two of them are from Punjab, three are from Kashmir. Weapons and other incriminating materials were recovered.” The Delhi Police claimed the five suspects were backed by “Pakistan’s ISI for ‘narco-terrorism'”. The Delhi Police added that the identity of the group the suspects were affiliated to was yet to be confirmed.
