The family was reportedly unable to take Safiya to the hospital because of heavy snowfall, who in her third trimester, had developed severe pregnancy-related complications, endangering both herself and her yet to be born child. Amid heavy snowfall and with roads still impassable in Hajin area of Bandipora district, an expecting mother was forced on Wednesday to walk around 5 kilometers while nine months pregnant. Meer Irfan A leopard was killed by the locals in the Shopian district of South Kashmir after it mauled nine sheep to death late on Tuesday night. Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that a leopard attacked several households in the Trenz belt and attacked the sheep at the house of Ghulam Mohamed Mir in the Adura area of Shopian's Trenz, however the Locals rushed to the spot and the leopard attacked the locals as well. "The Locals in self-defence attacked the leopard and it unfortunately died in the retaliation when the locals were trying to defend themselves," the Locals said. Meanwhile the Wildlife Department has constituted a team to investigate the entire matter.

CRPF Man Dies as Shed Collapses Due to Heavy Snowfall in Srinagar

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Sub Inspector was killed on Wednesday after a shed collapsed at former legislator's house in Hazratbal area of Srinagar. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a CRPF Sub Inspector identified as H C Murmu of 115 battalion was injured after a shed collapsed due to snowfall at former Hazratbal legislator Syed M Akhoon's residence. They said the CRPF officer deployed at Akhoon's residence was immediately taken to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Hazratbal where doctors referred him to SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS). MiG-21 Fighter Jet of Indian Air Force Crashes in Rajasthan

A MiG-21 fighter jet of Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed near Suratgarh, Rajasthan on Tuesday evening. Reports said that the pilot managed to eject safely. The primary cause of the crash is suspected to be - technical malfunction. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to probe the accident, the IAF said. In 2019, in a similar incident, an Indian Air Force MiG-21 Bison aircraft airborne from Air force Station Nal for a routine sortie had crashed near Bikaner, Rajasthan. Initial inputs had indicated the likely cause of the accident as bird-hit after take off.
