The Government Forces on Tuesday morning launched Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Kamla area of Tral in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a search operation has been launched jointly by forces including 42 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF in the Kamla area of Tral. A door-to-door search operation has begun, they said. Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched as an Anti Militancy operation on May 2, 2017, amid a rise in the local recruitment into Militant groups in the Kashmir valley. The Forces jointly conduct search operations in a specific area.

One Militant Killed in Shopian Encounter- Operation on

An unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter that broke out between militants and government forces in Zeipora village of Shopian district on Monday. An official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. CD Hospital in Srinagar Running Short of Oxygen Beds as Covid Numbers Go Up

Srinagar’s Chest Diseases (CD) hospital is running out of oxygen beds as COVID-19 numbers have shot up meteorically in Jammu Kashmir. Professor and Head of Department, Chest Medicine, Dr Naveed Nazir Monday said that out of the around 100 beds with oxygen facility at the hospital, “90 percent” are occupied. We are not admitting patients with mild symptoms. They are asked to go for home isolation. At present all our beds are almost full,” he said. Highly placed sources said that the administration doesn't want economic activity to be disrupted in Jammu Kashmir by imposing lockdown due to massive surge in COVID cases. Colleges and Universities Across Jammu Kashmir ordered Closure till 15 May

The collleges and Universities across Jammu Kashmir have been ordered to remain shut till the 15th day of May amid the growing covid 19 cases in the region. In a tweet, the office of the Lieutenant Governor Jammu Kashmir, Manoj Sinha said that all colleges and universities in Jammu Kashmir will be shut till 15 of May. "All Universities & Colleges in J&K shall remain closed for imparting on-campus/ in-person education to the students till 15.05.2021,except for the courses/programs that require physical presence of students on account of laboratory / research / thesis work and internship etc," office of the LG J&K tweeted.
