Anantnag Resident Dies of Covid- 5 Dead in the Fresh Wave in Achabal Belt So Far

Suhail Dar One more person died of covid 19 in the Kashmir valley on Monday morning, officials told The Kashmiriyat. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, a health official said that a 70-year-old patient from the Damhal Khashipora area of Anantnag who had been admitted to SKIMS in Srinagar on 23 April has died of covid on Monday morning. "He was suffering from pneumonia after which we shifted him to the Srinagar's SKIMS, where he has died of covid-19," the official said. He said that so far five persons have died of covid in the Achabal belt in this fresh re-surge that has gripped the Kashmir valley and Jammu. Ten more persons have died of Covid-19 Since Morning in Jammu Kashmir.

A 32-year-old man was among ten more persons who succumbed to the novel coronavirus in Jammu Kashmir, official sources said on Monday. They said that seven of the fresh deaths were reported from Kashmir Valley, including three persons aged between 45 to 60 years. Three deaths due to the virus were reported from Jammu last night. They said the 32-year-old man from Shopian was admitted on April 15 at SMHS hospital and was suffering from bilateral community-acquired pneumonia. A 45-year-old man from the Muslim Peer area of north Kashmir’s Sopore town also died at SMHS hospital, a week after he was admitted with bilateral CAP, the officials told. 110 Non-Local Labourers Tested Positive for COVID-19 in Kashmir

As many as 110 non-local labourers, who arrived in Kashmir last week, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Qazigund area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Sunday, officials said. A health official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they have collected 190 samples of non-local labourers three day ago, among which 110 labourers have tested positive. As per official, majority of these infected labourers were working with Border Road Organization (BRO) in Ladakh region. After witnessing a surge in Covid-19 cases, the district administration has declared four villages of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district as 'red zones' on Sunday. The district administration has also enforced a strict curfew, not in the main town alone but has also restricted the movement of people living in the red zones. An official said that 4 villages have been declared ‘red zones’ in Kupwara. He identified the red zones as Goos, Shaloora Teli Mohalla, Dardsun Kralpora and Bunpora Trehgam. “There will be no inward or outward movement of any person from these villages and people have been asked to strictly stay indoors,” the official added.
