The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an employee of power development department, Jammu for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 6,000/- from a complainant. In a statement, issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said that a case was registered on a complaint against an employee, working in the office of AEE, PDD sub-division-III Jammu on the allegations of demanding bribe for providing electricity connection and updating records of installed electric meter in the name of the complainant. Jammu Kashmir High Court has quashed the detention of senior Hurriyat leader and close aide of Syed Ali Geelani for the second time and directed police to get Syed Imtiyaz Hyder released from Haryana jail. Syed Imtiyaz Hyder-a resident of Gojra village of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district was arrested besides 9 persons including 4 separatist leaders in a nocturnal raid in March 2019. Hyder was shortly after his arrest booked under Public Safety Act and shifted to Kot Balwal Jail, Jammu. Since his arrest, Hyder has been lodged in different jails and recently he was shifted from Amphala Jail to Haryana Jail. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday said it had arrested two Lashkar-e-Taiba Militants from Hyderabad in connection with the Darbhanga railway station blast case of Bihar. The accused had set off a bomb on a running passenger train resulting in huge loss of lives and property.
