The government on Friday removed a female teacher from the service after her unauthorized absence. The teacher in question is Heena Ramzan, who had been posted at Boys Middle School Meemandar Shopian. On the recommendations of Chief Education Officer, Shopian, the Designated Committee reviewed the ‘unauthorized absence case’ of the said teacher and summarily ordered her removal from the government service. The teacher had remained absent from her legitimate duties since 2018 and despite providing enough opportunities to said teacher to resume her duties by the Drawing and Disbursing Officer, she neither responded to the notices nor resumed her duties. At least five residential houses were gutted in a fire mishap here at Jamia Qadeem locality of Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday evening.
