The students of the Central University of Kashmir in Ganderbal on Monday gathered in large numbers to protest against the insulting remarks made by BJP leaders against the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The fixed-line and mobile internet services were restored in Ramban district while curfew continued to remain in force in Bhaderwah town of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district for the fifth straight day on Monday following communal tension, officials said. The body of a 12-year-old boy, who had gone missing from a forest area in Uri of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on June 12, was recovered on Monday. Reports reaching GNS said that the boy namely Shahid Ahmed son of Abdul Jabbar Ganai of Trikanjan Boniyar had taken his cattle for grazing on Sunday. As the boy didn’t return back, the family grew apprehensive and informed the police which subsequently alongside the locals launched a search operation to locate the missing boy. Amid forecast for isolated rains in next 24 hours, minimum temperature decreased at most places in Kashmir Valley on Monday. A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar recorded a low of 15.8°C against 16.3°C on the previous night. The temperature, he said, was above normal by 1.5°C during this time of the year for the summer capital. Qazigund recorded a low of 13.2°C against 14.2°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.3°C above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said. Pahalgam recorded a minimum of 8.8°C against 10.6°C on the previous night. Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board chairperson, Dr Darakshan Andrabi Sunday said that all the previous bungling in waqf money will be investigated and those involved will be made accountable. Talking to reporters at Baba Dariya Deen Shrine at Ganderbal, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), she said that there have been huge bunglings in waqf money. One militant have been killed during the encounter that broke out between militants and Government forces in the Kreesbal area of Srinagar in central Kashmir. The Jammu Kashmir Police had earlier said that a chance #encounter started at Kreesbal Palpora Sangam area of Srinaagr with Militants and a small team of Srinagar Police. During the gunfire, one militant of Lashkar e Taiba were killed. The slain militant was identified as Adil Parray, a resident of Ganderbal.
