BSF trooper injured after being hit by bus in Ganderbal

A BSF jawan was injured after he was hit by a bus in Mamar locality of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday morning. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a bus hit a BSF jawan, who was on duty at Mamar area of Kangan. He said that the BSF jawan was injured and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The injured jawan has been identified as Narengan Kumar s/o Jatan Kumar of 102 BN, who was deployed for ROP duty at Mammer. Militants manage to flee after brief exchange of fire in Kulgam

After a brief exchange of fire, militants have managed to give slip to the security forces in Rampora Qaimoh area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district where an encounter broke out last night, officials said on Sunday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that encounter broke out Saturday night after a joint team of Police, Army's 1 RR and CRPF launched search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in Rampora area of Kulgam. He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter. South Kashmir: Gunfight rages in Kulgam

Encounter broke out between militants and government forces in Rampora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Saturday. Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Rampora. As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight. Unknown persons assault journalist in Srinagar

A Srinagar-based journalist was thrashed by at least four car-borne persons in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district. Identified as Shabraz Bashir, who works with Jammu based News Now, he said that he was at Bemina Chowk in Srinagar when at least four persons got down from a Swift Car and caught hold of him, and thrashed him. Shabraiz said that he kept asking them What he had done but they in return threatened to kill him. “I have lodged a Police complaint against the persons, who in return assured me of all possible help”, he said. The Police, meanwhile said that they are checking CCTV footage to identify the culprits for necessary action.

Scooty rider dies after being hit by truck in Sumbal

A scooty rider died after he was hit by a speedy truck at Shadipora area Sumbal in North Kashmir's Bandipora district, officials said here on Saturday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that speedy truck hit a scooty, resulting in critically injuries to the rider. He said that the injured was brought to CHC Sumbal for treatment, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The deceased has been identified as Towseef Ahmad Gooru (21) son of Abdul Khaliq Gooru of Naninara area of Sumbal. 12-year-old boy injured in Poonch explosion

A 12-year-old boy from Nakarkote village of Poonch was injured in a land mine explosion that took place in the area on Saturday afternoon. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the boy was grazing his cattle in the area when the explosion took place near the Line of Control. He said that the boy received splinter injuries and was immediately given first aid by the army. The official said that he has been hospitalised and his condition is said to be stable.
