Unidentified male dead body found near SMHS in Srinagar

An unknown male body was recovered in SMHS hospital in central Kashmir Srinagar district on Saturday afternoon officials said. They told local news agency KNA that, some locals spotted the body lying in paddy fields in SMHS and accordingly informed the concerned police station. With the approval of India’s first indigenously developed Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday urged parents to get their children vaccinated against HPV to prevent several types of cancers. “We have an amazing opportunity to prevent certain types of cancers in future generations through HPV vaccination,” said DAK President Dr Nisar ul Hassan in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). “According to a Swedish study, HPV vaccine was found to prevent 90 percent of cervical cancers,” he said. India has ranked 107 out of 121 countries on the Global Hunger Index (GHI), far worse than all countries in South Asia barring war-torn Afghanistan, The Hindu reported. GHI is a tool for comprehensively measuring and tracking hunger at global, regional, and national levels. GHI scores are based on the values of four component indicators - undernourishment, child stunting, child wasting and child mortality. The GHI score is calculated on a 100-point scale reflecting the severity of hunger, where zero is the best score (no hunger) and 100 is the worst.
