Kashmiri pandit shot at in Shopian succumbs

A Kashmiri pandit who was undergoing treatment after being shot at by suspected militants in the Shopian district of south Kashmir has succumbed to his injuries.

Earlier Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Saturday noon a Kashmiri pandit was shot at by unknown gunmen in the Chowdrigund area of Shopian district in south Kashmir, after which he was referred to the nearby hospital.

The Kashmiri Pandit identified as Pooran Krishan Bhat son of Tarak Nath Bhat, a resident of Chowdigund in Shopian was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.

However, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The Government forces rushed to the spot and launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
