JKBOSE warns private schools of action for misleading students

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) has warned all the private schools of action for misleading parents and the students over their affiliation with the Board. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Secretary JKBOSE has issued a circular to all private academic institutions affiliated with them, cautioning against the use of misleading hoardings. As per the circular, the private schools have been accused of duping unsuspecting students by using hoardings that falsely indicate they are affiliated with other recognized boards or imparting studies on other patterns. In a statement issued to The Kashmiriyat, Public Health Engineering Department of Jammu Kashmir said that the department is carrying out some essential repair works due to which water supply will be cut for 29 and 30th April. Only few hundred water bodies ‘repaired’ in JK, says Jal Shakti census

Of the 9,765 water bodies in Jammu Kashmir, 9,209 have never been repaired, the Ministry of Jal Shakti census report has revealed. The Ministry of Jal Shakti released the first ever census of Water Bodies in convergence with the 6th Minor Irrigation (MI) Census under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Irrigation Census”. The census report, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has revealed that there are 9,765 water bodies in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and among them 9,209 were never repaired and three water bodies are under renovation currently. Shabir Khan A residential house suffered massive damage after a tree fell over it in Baramulla district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday morning a tree fell down on a residential house in the Kumar Mohalla area of Boniyar in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. The Jammu Kashmir Police on Friday arrested a man for unethically placing a camera inside the changing room of his readymade shop in Baramulla district in north Kashmir. In a press release, police said, Police Station Chandoosa received a written complaint from one minor girl (name withheld) accompanied by her sister. The girl stated that on 26th April 2023 she went to a readymade shop at Bandi Payeen belonging to one Aijaz Ahmad Sofi of Bandi Payeen Chandoosa and selected some clothes and went to changing room for trial. "After entering in the changing room she found a hidden mobile phone which was kept there for secretly recording the customer's videos while changing clothes," she said in her complaint.

A teenager boy and man allegedly commit suicide in Ganderbal and Baramulla district on Tuesday. An official told Kashmir Scroll that a 18 year old (Name withheld) was found hanging from a ceiling fan by his family members at his home this evening. Police reached to the spot and took body for Lega-medico formalities, an official said. Meanwhile, a man from Uri Baramulla also committed suicide by hanging himself at Tulsi Bagh area of Srinagar, official said.
