The authorities on Wednesday disengaged three consolidated workers, who were arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau in Assistant Regional Transport Office Sopore for accepting bribe. According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the consolidated workers were disengaged on the recommendations of ARTO Baramulla. "In view of the recommendations made by the ARTO Baramulla conveyed by the RTO Kashmir, the workers Aijaz Ahmed Mir, Mohammad Ashraf Dar and Farooq Ahmed Wagay are hereby disengaged with immediate effect," reads the order. A non-local on Sunday allegedly tried to set a house on fire in the Pampore area in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. The daughter of the house owner Humaira told the media in Srinagar that their employee who is a non-local set ablaze their house on the night of Sunday and Monday. She said that the non local who identified himself as Sahil from Nepal worked in their hotel. "He showed us all documents which were fake and his real name is Shakti. At least seven shops and a residential house were gutted in a massive fire incident in Qalamabad village in Handwara area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Reports reaching GNS said that a fire broke out in a residential house this afternoon. The raging flames soon after spread to a shopping complex in proximity near Jamia Masjid Qalamabad. Responding to the exigency, Handwara Police, Army’s 30 RR and locals swung into action to douse off the flames. After hours of strenuous efforts, the blaze was controlled but not before it gutted at least seven shops and a double-storeyed residential house. Jammu Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested six persons and also seized six vehicles involved in illegal transportation of minerals in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. In a statement, issued to the news agency—-Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that raids at different locations including Fatehgarh and Jihama areas were conducted during which six persons were arrested, besides six vehicles including five tractors and a tipper were seized.
