The District Magistrate(DM) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today issued an order regarding imposition of restrictions u/s 144 CrPC on Conduct of J&K High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) Srinagar Elections. A lady tried to end her life by jumping into river Jhelum in Sopore area of North Kashmir Baramulla district on Saturday. An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that a lady jumped into river Jhelum near Chankhan Bridge. He said that timely action of the locals and police saved her from drowning. Tangmarg consumers with huge arrears to face disconnection, says officials

The Jammu Kashmir administration has issued a notice ordering mass disconnection of consumers with huge electricity arrears. "Defaulters having huge outstanding arrears, all consumers (except Govt. departments) be disconnected immediately," read the order. More than 450 customers who have not paid their dues for a period of over three months will face disconnection, officials said. The consumers shall be reconnected only after liquidation of their outstanding arrears, the order said. "Each section is required to submit disconnection ATR for all consumers as per the enclosed list," concluded the order of Tangmarg AEE PDD.

At least 2169 patients have died within a span of 9 months at SMHS Hospital Srinagar, reveals the official record. These deaths occurred in the hospital from January 2022 to September 2022. The patients have died due to multiple causes. In response to an application filed under the Right to Information Act by social activist MM Shuja, the hospital authorities have revealed that it has conducted 15726 surgeries during the same period of time. The hospital records reveal that it has done 14177 registrations of patients under the Golden Card Scheme for which it has established 6 registration counters. Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Saturday said that no outsider was being given land under Pradhan Mantri’s Awas Yojna (PMAY) and those who grabbed state land illegally should stop misleading people. A 20-year-old youth died due to electric shock in Batpora Nowbal area of Qaimoh in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Mohsin Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Ahad Bhat of Batpora Nowbal received electric shock last evening when he was repairing some gadget at his home.
