Shia leaders have expressed great dissatisfaction after their meeting LG Manoj Sinha on Monday over the annual Muharram processions. Iran on Saturday summoned Denmark’s ambassador to Tehran over the most recent Quran burning in the country, local media reported. The University of Kashmir Monday announced summer vacations from July 28. The summer vacations will end on August 6, 2023. “It is for the information of all concerned that the teaching departments of the University and its satellite campuses shall observe summer vacations w.e.f 28th July 2023 to 6th August 2023”, reads an order, a copy of which lies with GNS. “However, the Departmental offices shall function normally, and the Heads of the Departments/Directors of Campuses/Centres shall ensure that the examinations, if any, and other activities are conducted as per schedule”, reads the order further.

Amid the rising knife attacks in Kashmir, two youth were stabbed near Srinagar's Exhibition Ground. Officials said that three persons were arrested in Srinagar for stabbing two youth on Sunday evening in Exhibition ground. Police said that the three arrested were identified as Hammad Khan, Baazil Khan and Majid Khan, all residents of Sariabala area in Srinagar. A CRPF troopers was injured after being  hit by train in Sadoora area of south Kashmir's  Anantnag district. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday morning a CRPF trooper was hit by train no 09767 at km no 14.4 in between Sadoora, Anantnag section. The Central Government is set to amend the Jammu Kashmir Reorganisation Act 2019 to reserve three vacancies in the Jammu Kashmir Assembly. While two berths would be kept for "migrants," one berth would be reserved exclusively for displaced individuals, those who migrated from portions of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 and are presently on the other side of the LoC, according to media reports. The Jammu Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2023, has been introduced in the Lok Sabha for consideration.
