An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday morning Police arrested two persons in connection with the hate slogans raised against a community during the Aug 15 celebrations in Jammu. The official said that the two arrested include Rakesh Bajrangi, the organizer of the said rally. A local Court in Shopian has convicted and sentenced a man to two years of imprisonment in a cheque bounce case. The Court also directed the convicted person to pay double the cheque amount to the complainant with 15 percent interest on the cheque amount from date of issuance of cheque till realisation of cheque in practical. An old Muslim couple was beaten to death with iron rods and sticks by their neighbours in Uttar Pradesh. Three people have been arrested in the case, and police say that the murder was allegedly a result of an affair between the victim's son and the daughter of one of the accused, reported NDTV. 9 army troopers dead, several injured in Ladakh road accident

Nine army men were killed after their truck skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Leh district of Ladakh on Saturday, ANI reported. One more official was injured, as per the report Those deceased include eight soldiers and one Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO). As per the report, the truck was moving from Karu garrison to Kyari near Leh when it fell into the gorge.
