In a remarkable initiative to promote sports and empower women, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army proudly inaugrated the the Kashmir Women’s Cricket League on August 19th. The league showcased the cricketing prowess of talented women from the region.
The inaugural ceremony, held on August 19th, saw over 500 enthusiastic students from various schools in the area gathering to witness the excitement and fervor of the game. Mr. Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Region graced the occasion as the chief guest, emphasizing the significance of sports in fostering a sense of unity and empowerment.
This event marked a significant step in promoting sports, women’s empowerment, and unity in the region. The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army extends its gratitude to the participants and supporters who contributed to making this league a reality.
The inaugral matches were played between Legends sports club Handwara Vs Shopian Strikers and Anantnag Green Vs Royal Strikers Ganderbal in Sher-e-Kashmir stadium with Legends sports club Handwara and Royal Strikers Ganderbal emerging as winners.
