Sopore encounter: One more militant killed, toll two

Two Terrorists have been killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in the Nowpora Sopore area of North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday. A top police officer told Srinagar Based news agency Kashmir Scroll said that two terrorists have been killed by security forces in Nowpora Sopore, whose identity is yet to be ascertained. Earlier on a specific input , the joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Nowpora Sopore area. As the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces triggering off a gunfight. A top police officer has confirmed to Kashmir Scroll about the killing of two terrorists in the encounter.(KS)

An encounter has started between militants and government forces in the Sopore area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday evening gunfight started between militants and government forces in the Nowpora check area of the north Kashmir area. Earlier forces had launched a cordon and search operation in the area following an input about militant movement in the area.
