Jammu and Kashmir Police has launched a special drive against the wanted militants based in Pakistan.
As part of this drive, properties of four militant handlers who were declared as proclaimed offenders by the court have been attached by the Police District Handwara.
These individuals, who fled to Pakistan or Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK) during the 1990s or early 2000s, have been actively involved in orchestrating militancy in Handwara and other regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
The seized properties include land holdings belonging to Mumtaz Ahmad Khwaja, Lateef Ahmad Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, and Ghulam Nabi Ganai.
These proclaimed offenders have been implicated in various cases within Police District Handwara, perpetuating efforts to sustain the militant network in the region.
Additionally, 51 individuals from Jammu and Kashmir, who have crossed over to Pakistan/PaK for illicit arms training, have been declared as proclaimed offenders by the court.
Legal actions against them are also under consideration.
