Despite a rise in mercury at most places in Jammu Kashmir on Wednesday, officials reported that night temperatures continued to remain below normal. A meteorological department official said that the city recorded a minimum temperature of 7.0°C, compared to 8.2°C the previous night, marking a deviation of 1.9°C below normal for this time of year. In Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.2°C, compared to 5.4°C the previous night, registering a deviation of 0.3°C below normal.
