A 22-year-old Muslim youth, Adnan Khan, was brutally stabbed to death in front of his father on Monday night in Bhopal’s Gandhi Nagar area, shortly after returning home from the mosque where he had offered Namaz.
According to police and local accounts, around 9:45 pm, three accused — identified as Raj Solanki (40), his brother Lucky Solanki (35), and their nephew Shubham — called Adnan out of his house on some pretext. Moments later, an argument broke out, during which one of the attackers stabbed Adnan in the abdomen with a knife. Despite efforts to save him, Adnan died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
The incident unfolded before the eyes of his father, Abdul Jalal, a daily wage laborer, who witnessed his son collapse following the attack.
The murder has triggered outrage in the locality. Dozens of residents gathered outside the Gandhi Nagar police station late at night, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused and justice for the family. Additional police forces were deployed to control the situation.
Preliminary investigations suggest the attack may have been linked to a dispute involving the daughter of one of the accused. Police have registered a case of murder, while all three accused remain on the run.
Adnan, who worked as a two-wheeler mechanic, was the family’s primary breadwinner.
