Four policemen have been killed in a militant attack in Zainapora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District.
A police source said that three policemen were killed in an attack carried out by militants on police guarding minority in Zainapora area of Shopian district on Tuesday.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that one policemen was also injured in the attack and he has been shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment who later succumbed to his injuries.
“Four weapons have also been snatched from the policemen” sources told The Kashmiriyat.
A police officer confirmed that the injured constable Abdul Majid (belt no. 193/SPN) of Shallabugh Ganderbal succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital.
The officer identified the other slain as constable Mehrajuddin (belt no. 477/ Spn) of Chewa Ajas Bandipora and Hamidullah (belt no. 860/ Spn) of Fatehpora Anantnag and Anees Ahmad Mir (belt no. 480/ Spn) of Souch Kulgam.
Militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack.
