5 Indian Army men including an Army major were wounded in heavy firing by Pakistani Soldiers along the Line of Control that divides two sides of Kashmir.
As Per Indian Army, The Pakistani Army resorted to heavy firing with mortar shells on Indian forward posts along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
The Indian Army effectively retaliated in equal measures by firing with small arms on targeted Pakistani posts, the Indian Army said on Tuesday.
Speaking on the ceasefire violation, an Army officer said, “Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing from 0700 hours along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sector using small arms, automatics and mortars”.
The spate of ceasefire violations has increased manifold in the past one year with Pakistani troops violating the ceasefire along the LoC and the International Border (IB) over 650 times.
