Six Militants have been Killed in an encounter that broke out early morning encounter between militants and government forces in Sekipora area of Bijbhera in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Friday.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of army’s 3 RR and Jammu Kashmir Police had sealed all the entry and exit points to the area after launching a cordon and search operation in Sekipora around 2 am.
During the searches the holed up militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter.
Six Armed Militants who were trapped in a residential house at Sekipora area amid massive exchange of gunfire have been killed, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.
They said that arms and ammunition has been recovered from the Militants. Search operations are still going on at the site of the encounter, they said.
As per initial reports, the slain Militants are believed to be Locals.
Meanwhile Internet Services have been snapped in Kulgam and Islamabad (Anantnag) Districts of South Kashmir. (The Kashmiriyat)
