Locals from Batengoo on Saturday held hostage two officials from the revenue department of Jammu Kashmir Government after the officials initiated a demolition drive in the Batengoo area of Khanabal in Anantnag district of South Kashmir. Gunshots have been heard in the Ara Khashipora area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday evening joint Forces incuding Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and Central Reserve Police Force jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the area following inputs about Militant movement in the area. Waris Shah A 31-year-old woman was found lying dead in his room in Chree Panzgam village of kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday. A police official told  The Kashmiriyat that a Women name (withheld) ended her life possibly by hanging herself at his residence at Chree Pangzgam village. He said that the Woman was rushed to the district hospital where doctors declared her dead. The body was then handed over to the family after completing necessary medical formalities.
