Amid curfew and strict restrictions, Jammu Kashmir unit of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is planning to mark the ‘first anniversary’ of the abrogation of Art 370 and bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Jammu Kashmir into two union territories in a full swing.

The mega celebration will be held from August 5 for fifteen days and the first day will witness to hoist tricolor in all zones, tehsils, and district headquarters.

BJP claims that the Abrogation of 370 has helped to restore peace and stability in Jammu Kashmir and the majority of the State including Chenab Valley. Adding that the people of Chenab valley are happy with this historic decision taken by Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).

Somi Nath Sharma, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Doda president told The Kashmiriyat that after the abrogation of Art 370, Jammu and Kashmir is progressing in all sectors.

“All preparations are set to mark this mega celebration, we will celebrate this historic day,”  Somi Nath said.

“After the abrogation of Article 370, people of the valley did not show any kind of agitation nor any resentment against this move,” he added.

However, former MLC & Spokesperson Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Firdous Tak, rejected all such claims, calling 5th August as the darkest chapter of history in Jammu Kashmir.

“It was a constitutional fraud played by Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), the whole nation has been lied and cheated,”  Firdous said.

Commenting on  Chenab valley he said, “Chenab is an important part of the state. And we share the sentiments and emotions of state. We condemn the abrogation of Art 370.”

Ishtiyaq Ahmad Dev,  a coordinator of civil society Doda, said that whatever happened on August 05, was the murder of democracy.

“All the people are against this and I fail to understand, why this celebration?”, Ahmad questioned.

” We oppose this move, our culture was attacked. As an analyst, I would say let’s wait for five or six months Kathua, Udhammpur, and Jammu will also oppose this,”  he added.

Fridous Natoo, a journalism student from Chenab valley said that the Government claimed that Jammu Kashmir got developed after the abrogation of art 370. But, international Scholars including Economists have busted this claim quoting that Jammu Kashmir is already more developed than Gujarat, the model state of PM Modi.
