Accusing KU of unfair evaluation of examination papers, GDC Sopore students stage protest

Scores of students of Sopore’s Government Degree College (GDC) hit the roads to protest against Kashmir University (KU) over what “unfair” evaluation of examination papers.

Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that students of 6th semester at GDC Sopore on Wednesday morning hit the streets of Sopore’s main town in north Kashmir raising slogans against the KU authorities.

One of the protesting students said that Kashmir University was playing with their careers. “This is not the first time that KU has done an unfair evaluation of the examination papers,” a student alleged.

Raising questions over the quick results, The students alleged that the papers were evaluated within a short span of time. “How it is possible that our papers would be evaluated within 3 days,” they asked.

The students appealed to the KU authorities to look into the matter.

Police and other officials reached the spot and pacified the protesting students who later dispersed peacefully.
