After initiating the process of terminating employees with “Anti-National links”, the Jammu Kashmir administration will now identify the “deadwood” employees to prematurely retire them.
The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Raghav Langer has directed the Deputy Commissioners to immediately submit the list of “deadwood employees” of the Revenue Department.
The Divisional Commissioner issued these directions while chairing a video conferencing meeting convened to review the progress in the districts in this regard, according to news reports.
He directed the Deputy Commissioners to complete the verification exercise to facilitate removal of the “non-performers” as per the provisions of the Civil Service Regulations, 1956.
The Jammu Kashmir administration has already been compiling data of employees to be retired at the age of 48 years or those who have completed 22 years in service.
Screening committees are being constituted at the district levels to identify the employees as per the prescribed parameters that include like judging the performance of the employee.
The committee has been asked to recommend the names of such “deadwood” employees to higher authorities for their immediate termination from service.
In another meeting, the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu asked the DCs to submit a revised list of martyrs, prominent citizens for the renaming of schools, roads, and road crossings on their names.
Pertinently, schools, colleges & roads in Jammu Kashmir are being renamed after prominent citizens, Indian army soldiers, CRPF men, and Jammu and Kashmir police personnel who were killed in the line of duty, while serving the nation.
