In continuation of renaming public places, and educational institutes, the Jammu Kashmir admin on Saturday renamed the Government Primary school in Panzath area of Qazigund.
A grand event had been called on the renaming occasion which was attended by ZEO Qazigund, Headmaster of the said institute, Auqaf committee members, SHO Qazigund along with others.
The school was renamed after ASI Abdul Rashid Shah, a resident of Panzath, Wanpora, who died in the line of duty on August 28, 2017 at Mehandi Kadal Anantnag.
Speaking on the occasion, SHO Police station Qazigund conveyed that Abdul Rashid Shah was very helpful and popular among his colleagues. He was a very courageous and brave policeman.
More than hundred school, public places have been renamed after slain troopers after LG-led administration permitted the name changes last year.
