After being barred from attending exam for wearing Hijab, FIR registered against female students in Karnataka

A Muslim girl who recently protested after being denied entry into a Karnataka college for wearing a Hijab has been booked by the Karnataka Police.

According to reports, Hiba Sheikh (18), has been booked by the police days after she had an argument with ABVP students after several female students were barred from attending an internal examination in Karnataka’s Mangaluru.

Hiba had filed a complaint against ten male students for harassing her and preventing her from attending the internal examination.

An FIR was filed on her complaint on 5 March.

After that, the complaint was also filed against her and other Muslim students by Kavana Shetty, a student of the same college, who is associated with BJP’s student wing ABVP.

Kavana alleged that Hiba and her friends threaten her and other Hindu students.

Her complaint was finally converted into an FIR on 7 March.

In a video, Hiba has denied the allegations leveled against them. “If she was threatened she could have filed the complaint on the day when I filed the complaint,” she said in a video statement.
