After Pakistan, China denounces India’s plan to hold G-20 summit in Jammu Kashmir

After Pakistan, China has come out to denounce India’s plan to organize next year’s G-20 summit in Jammu Kashmir next year.

“We have noted this latest development. China’s position on the Kashmir issue is consistent and clear-cut. The Kashmir issue, a dispute left from the past, should be peacefully and properly addressed in accordance with the UN Charter, Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreement,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian told the media.

On the question asked about the opposition to the CPEC by India, the Chinese spokesperson claimed that both the cases are of completely different nature. He said that China has undertaken projects to develop Pakistan’s economy and improve the livelihood of its people.

Lijian said, “Some projects are in that part of Kashmir which is under the control of Pakistan. The concerned Chinese companies running the projects do this with the aim of helping the local people so that their economy grows and their livelihoods improve.”

“It has not affected our stand on the issue of Kashmir,” he added
