Amid fresh snowfall, Army rescues 30 families trapped at Margan Top

The Indian Army accompained with Police and Civil adminstration rescued 30 families stuck at Margan top, officials said.

Admist heavy rainfall in kashmir and snowfall at higher reaches, the 19 Rashtriya Rifles Larnoo COB rescued locals who are stuck at higher reaches of Margan top alongwith the livestock.

Army responded immediately with SDM and civil administration for the rescue Operation using snow chains on Army vehicles.

At least 30 families have been rescued by 19 RR led by the team of Major Sanjay Pandey including livestocks, they said.

Meanwhile, the Civil administration provided all the necessary assistance at Gauran, base location.

A medical camp were also set up at Gauran by 19 RR for special treatment of stranded people, they said.

Meanwhile the SDM Kokernag said that the admin has so far rescued around 75 people and approximately 1500 livestock and got them down to Gawran.

“They are being given medical care, food, shelter and all necessary care by adminstration, police crpf etc,” SDM told The Kashmiriyat.
