After a complete lull of several hours, the encounter that raged in Kandipora area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) district has resumed.
An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday morning amid a heavy downpour firing resumed at the site of the encounter.
He said that after the initial exchange of gunfire the Militants had managed to escape, however as the searches continued, contact was established with the Militants yet again in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
The operation had been put at a complete halt as search lights were installed to not allow Militants a chance to escape.
The operation is being jointly conducted the Government forces including 03 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police.
As per Locals, an intermittent exchange of gunfire is going on.
